The chore list that kids get excited about โ€” on the tablet you already own

Tasks & Treasures morning task board showing a family's tasks, stars and streaks

The actual app โ€” morning tasks, star values, streaks, and a family progress bar.

One board, the whole motivation loop

Tasks earn stars. Stars buy treasures. The board keeps score, celebrates the wins, and does the reminding โ€” so you don't have to.

โญ

Stars for every task

Each task has a star value, so finishing the morning feels like scoring โ€” not like being nagged through a list.

๐Ÿ”ฅ

Streaks that build habits

Finish every task, day after day, and the streak grows โ€” consistency your kids can see and won't want to break.

๐ŸŽ

Treasures they choose

Stars buy rewards each kid picked themselves โ€” movie night, ice cream trips, screen time. Work first, then fun.

๐Ÿ†

Milestones worth bragging about

A sticker book of lifetime achievements and a family leaderboard turn showing up daily into something to celebrate.

๐ŸŽฒ

Mystery star chest

Finish a whole morning or evening and the chest opens โ€” a surprise bonus that makes the last task the most exciting one.

๐Ÿ“ฅ

Import & export anytime

Plan the week in a spreadsheet and load it in one tap โ€” and your tasks and treasures export to plain CSV whenever you want them.

Up and running in an evening

If your tablet has a browser, it can be your family command center.

๐Ÿ—„๏ธ Step 1

Dig out an old tablet

That iPad from 2019. The Fire tablet from a Prime Day past. Anything with a modern browser works.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Step 2

Set up your family

Add your people, their tasks, star values, and the treasures they can earn. Import from a spreadsheet if you like.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Step 3

Hang it where life happens

Kitchen wall, hallway, fridge-side. Kids tap their own photo, check off tasks, and watch the stars add up.

Built to make kids want to check the board

Every screen below is the real app โ€” not a mockup.

๐ŸŒ… Mornings, after-school, and bedtime that run themselves

Tasks live in three blocks โ€” AM, Home, and Bed โ€” with star values. Everyone can see everyone's progress, so the board does the nagging for you.

  • Streaks ๐Ÿ”ฅ for finishing every task, day after day
  • Bonus stars for helping with someone else's task
  • Skipped tasks cost stars at midnight โ€” real stakes, gently enforced
  • Sick day? Parents can excuse a task with a long-press โ€” no lost stars, streak intact

๐ŸŽ Treasures they pick themselves

Stars buy treasures you define โ€” movie night picks, ice cream trips, 30 minutes of screen time. Treasures stay locked until today's tasks are done, so the deal is always "work first, then fun."

  • Per-kid treasure stores with their own prices
  • Mystery star chest ๐ŸŽฒ when a whole time block gets finished
  • Parent approval on tasks that need a grown-up's sign-off

๐Ÿ† A leaderboard and sticker book worth bragging about

Lifetime milestones fill each kid's sticker book โ€” 50 stars, week-long streaks, all the way to the 1000-star sticker. Fill the book, win a family date night.

  • Family leaderboard with today's points and streaks
  • 9 collectible stickers per kid, earned for real consistency
  • Confetti & fanfares when the whole family finishes โ€” "FUN TIME!"

Made for little fingers

Big touch targets, tap-your-own-photo navigation, and parent controls hidden behind a long-press and a PIN.

๐Ÿ“Š

Honest history

Every task shows its track record โ€” 24 of 31 days โ€” so you can see habits actually forming.

๐Ÿ“ฅ

Spreadsheet friendly

Export and import tasks and treasures as CSV. Plan the week in Google Sheets, load it in one tap.

๐ŸŒ™

Resets itself at midnight

Fresh board every morning, automatic backups every night. It's an appliance โ€” you never babysit it.

๐Ÿ“ด

Works offline

No cloud means no outages, no login screens, no surprises on a Tuesday morning. It just works.

โš–๏ธ

Fair by design

Undo logic that gives stars back exactly, penalties that can be excused, and approvals so nobody games the system.

Built for one family. Mine.

I didn't set out to build a product. I set out to stop repeating "brush your teeth, make your bed, feed the fish" every single morning.

So I built Tasks & Treasures for the tablet on our kitchen wall. My two daughters tap their photos, check off their mornings, earn stars, and cash them in for treasures they chose themselves. It has run every day since โ€” through sick days, school mornings, streak celebrations, and at least one very intense negotiation about the price of ice cream.

Everything in it exists because our family needed it: the "excuse a task" option came from a stomach bug, the approval flow from a certain someone claiming a suspiciously fast room clean, and the mystery star chest because finishing a whole morning deserves a little drama.

Now I'm getting it ready for families beyond mine โ€” if you have an old tablet, you're most of the way there. That's what early access is for.

Your kids' data belongs on your wall, not in a cloud

Tasks & Treasures is local-first. Everything lives on your tablet and nowhere else.

๐Ÿ”‘

One account, yours

One parent login for the whole family. Kids just tap their photo โ€” no passwords for them to lose.

๐Ÿ

No cloud

Names, photos and progress never leave the device.

๐Ÿ™ˆ

No tracking

No analytics, no ads, no data brokers. It's your family's board.

๐Ÿ”“

No lock-in

Your tasks and treasures export to plain CSV any time.

Fair questions

Which tablets does it work on?

Anything with a reasonably modern browser โ€” iPads, Android tablets, Fire tablets, even an old laptop propped in the kitchen. If it can open a web page, it can be your family board. It's tuned for wall-mounted use: big touch targets, no tiny menus, and it quietly resets itself every night.

What will it cost?

Pricing is coming very soon. Sign up during early access and you'll get the best deal when it lands โ€” that's my thank-you for being early.

Is it actually ready?

The app is real and battle-tested โ€” my family has used it every day for months, and the screenshots above are the real thing. What I'm building now is the setup experience so it works for your family, not just mine (your names, your photos, your tasks). That's what early access is for.

Does it do shared calendars too?

No โ€” and that's on purpose. Tasks & Treasures does one job: daily tasks, rewards, and the motivation loop between them. If a shared calendar on the wall is your main need, a dedicated family display is genuinely the better buy.

What happens if the tablet dies or gets reset?

The app backs itself up nightly on the device, and you can export your full setup (tasks, treasures) to CSV whenever you like โ€” so moving to a new tablet is a five-minute job, not a start-over.

Can parents and kids both use it?

Yes โ€” it's designed for a shared wall tablet. Kids get big friendly buttons and their own treasure stores. Parent powers (approving tasks, excusing sick days, editing anything) live in a tucked-away admin area, so small fingers can't promote themselves to management.
